How HigherLife writes its guides

HigherLife's guides are written by Yisrael Schneider of HigherLife, the Brooklyn company that sets up iPhones in person at 1622 Coney Island Avenue. They answer the questions families really ask about phones. Every number carries its source and its year, every quote was checked word for word at its page, and every guide says when HigherLife is not the right choice.

Who we are

The guides are written by Yisrael Schneider of HigherLife. He has set up phones for many families himself, and is excited to continue. Yisrael Schneider directed the research behind every HigherLife guide. Write to us at support@higherlife.tech. HigherLife is an iPhone plan built for Jewish life. You can reach us by call or text at (855) 904-0959 or at support@higherlife.tech. Set-up is in person, by appointment, at the Tech Flatbush location, 1622 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn. HigherLife is not affiliated with Tech Flatbush.

How we find the questions

  • What people say. We read 319 real comments and questions about kosher phones on 96 public pages: community forums and news sites, from 2010 to 2026.
  • What people search. On 24 September 2026 we collected 7,319 different searches Google suggested, starting from 49 phrases about phones, children and kosher phones.

The charts in our guides are drawn from these two collections, and each chart says how many comments or searches it counts.

How we check

  • Every number names its source and its year.
  • Every quote was opened at its page and checked word for word, with spelling kept as written.
  • Apple's and Google's settings are described from their own guides, and we say which software version we mean.

What we do not do

  • We do not give halachic rulings. We describe what was said, with sources. Ask your rav.
  • We do not give medical advice.
  • We do not link to pages that list ways around phone protection.
  • We do not hide when HigherLife is not the right fit. Every guide says so.
