Privacy Policy
HigherLife protects phones. To do that, we keep a small amount of information about you and your phones. This page says what we keep, why, and what we never do.
What we keep
- Your account: the name, email address and phone number you gave us at set-up, and the plan you chose.
- Your phones: which phones are set up, which plan and settings each one is on, and whether the protection is installed and working.
- Protection decisions: the names of websites your phones ask for, so the protection can decide what to allow. We keep the decision for each website name, not the pages you read or what you typed.
- Support requests: messages you send us.
Why we keep it
- To run the protection on your phones and apply the settings you chose.
- To let you sign in, change your plan, and manage your phones.
- To bill you for your plan.
- To help you when you write to us.
Text messages
We send text messages to the mobile number you give us, and only for the service itself: the link to install your protection, one-time codes for you or a guardian, and the alerts you choose to turn on. We do not send marketing texts.
How you agree: you give us your mobile number at set-up, under a line that says you agree to receive these texts. Nothing is sent to a number you did not give yourself. How often: message frequency varies, and is typically a few messages per month. How to stop: reply STOP to any message and we stop texting that number. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
We never sell or share your mobile number, or your agreement to be texted, with anyone else for their marketing. Your number is shared only with the company that delivers the message for us, and only so the message can reach you.
Sign in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address, your name and your profile picture, and whether the email address is verified. We use the email address to match you to your HigherLife account. We do not read your Gmail, your contacts, your files or anything else in your Google account, and we do not ask Google for that access. You can sign in with your email and password instead at any time.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe, not to us. We keep a record of your plan and its payment status.
What we never do
- We never sell your information.
- We never share it with anyone except the services we need to run HigherLife (hosting, payments, text messages and email delivery), and only for that purpose.
- We never use the websites your phones visit for advertising.
How long we keep it
As long as your account is open. When you close your account, we delete your account details and your phones’ records, except records we must keep for billing and legal reasons.
Your choices
You can see and change your account details in My HigherLife. You can ask us to delete your account by writing to us. You can remove Google sign-in from your account at any time.
